Matrix Duo MD-650 dual sided laminating system is an multipurpose, easy-t0-use, cost effective and affordable solution for in-house on demand single and double sided laminating and encapsulation. Laminate and encapsulate a whole host of printed media from business cards to menus. The Matrix Duo MD-650 offers single sided laminating of flyers, book covers, greeting cards, double sided laminating for business cards and menus, and encapsulation for applying thermal film on both sides of the print with a clear border around the edge of the print.

Built for continuous use on an everyday basis, the Matrix Duo MD-650 is a hot laminator loaded with features to make it easy to use. The load button allows the rollers to run when the safety guard is up. The feed table has an alignment guide, and the control panel includes speed, temperature controls and a reverse mode.

Get high quality results with the Matrix Duo MD-650. High quality silicon rollers ensure the pressure is even, and an anti-curl bar ensures smooth flat prints. The unique anti-curl bar allows even the thinnest of laminates to be applied without the worry of a curled finish. Solid construction of this heavy duty system means reliability and productivity.

SPECIFICATIONS

The Matrix Duo MD-650 dual sided laminating system has a laminating speed of up to 1.4m/5 ft per minute, an encapsulation speed of 1.4mm per minute and accepts a maximum lamination film width of 650mm/26″. The MD-650 has a warm-up time of ten minutes, and has a laminating temperature range of 0-140ºC/32-284ºF. High quality silicon rollers ensure even pressure, and the diameter of the heated roller is 55mm/2.1″, and the diameter of the pull roller is 45mm/1.7″. The Matix Duo MD-650 includes 77mm/3″ and 25mm/1″ core adapters for flexibility and extension arms for large rolls of film up to 100m/3280 ft. The minimum paper thickness the Matrix Duo MD-650 accepts is 70 gsm.

The Matrix Duo MD-650 laminating and encapsulation system handles a full range of Vivid Laminating Technologies own brand, Boss Premium Brand Litho and Digital OPP Laminating Films and Encaspulating Roll Film. Boss Premium Brand Litho OPP Laminating Films include matte and gloss in 27 micron ideal for single side lamination of lithographic prints. Boss Premium Brand Digital OPP Laminating Films are coated with a more aggressive adhesive for a better finish and bond for digital output. The Digital OPP Laminating Films are available from 24-35 microns in gloss, matte, ‘Soft Touch’, Anti-Scratch and Biodegradable options. Boss Premium Brand Encapsulating Roll Film is a high quality, premium construction for perfect results. Encapsulating roll film includes gloss and matte finishes and ranges from 42 – 250 micron, giving a finish of up to 500 micron. All the films are available in various lengths and a variety of widths. Matrix Duo MD-650 is a desktop model. Optional accessories for the Matrix MD-650 include a stand, Film Perforating System, Flatbook and additional Mandrels. The Stand includes wheels and a base plate, perfect for storing spare film. The Film Perforation Unit attaches to the top of the Matrix Duo MD-650, to perforate the film and make it easier to slit, as the job comes out laminated at the back of the machine, without the need for a knife or scissors. Extra mandrels make the transition between matte and gloss or 25mm/1″ and 77mm/3″ core film quick and easy, saving time and increasing efficiency. Flatbook enables Perfect Bound and PUR Bound book covers to be laminated both sides and stay perfectly flat, while using standard OPP film, on all types of stock. Flatbook cuts out a channel of film as it laminates, leaving the inside spine unlaminated. This allows the adhesive to stick to the spine and not the laminate. The result is a perfectly bound flat book.
