Choosing large format paper
Which roll width fits my printer?
Match the roll to your printer’s maximum width: a 24-inch printer takes 610mm rolls, 36-inch takes 914mm, 44-inch takes 1118mm and 60-inch takes 1524mm. Narrower rolls also fit, which is handy for A1 (594mm) and A2 (420mm) work. Not sure which yours is? Look up your printer model to see the widest roll it takes.
What does gsm mean?
Grams per square metre, the paper’s weight. 80–90gsm suits everyday CAD and plans; heavier coated papers give richer colour for posters and presentations.
Coated or uncoated?
Uncoated bond such as DS Jet White MasterQ is ideal for line drawings. Coated paper such as DS Jet White Premium Q or DS Gold Standard holds ink on the surface for sharper lines and brighter colour.
