Buying new isn’t the only way to get a reliable large format printer. Our refurbished programme gives you access to Canon and HP DesignJet machines at a significant saving against retail prices, without gambling on an unknown machine from an unverified seller. Here’s how it works.
How the grading system works
Every refurbished printer we sell is graded so you know exactly what you’re getting before you buy:
- Gold — no optical damage, scratches or cosmetic defects, with new print heads, tubes, maintenance kits and cartridges fitted, and 95%+ ink capacity remaining.
- Silver — minor cosmetic wear, used components in good working condition, with 75%+ ink capacity.
- Bronze — visible cosmetic damage and used components, with up to 75% ink capacity — the budget option for anyone who just needs a working machine and isn’t fussed about looks.
What’s available
Stock covers both Canon imagePROGRAF and HP DesignJet ranges, from 24-inch desktop machines right up to 60-inch production printers. Models come and go as stock turns over, but recent availability has included HP DesignJet T120, T520, T790, T920 series, Z5400, Z2100, T7100 and T3500 units, alongside Canon imagePROGRAF TM-240, TM-255, TM-300, TM-305, PRO-4100, PRO-6100, TX-3000 and TX-4000 models.
Why go refurbished
The obvious reason is cost — you can pick up a capable machine for meaningfully less than buying new. But it’s also a sensible option if you need a second or backup printer, want to try a size or model before committing to a new one, or simply don’t need every feature of the latest release. As with any printer, it’s still worth thinking about running costs and ink capacity alongside the purchase price, which is exactly why we grade by remaining ink capacity rather than just cosmetic condition.
Stock changes daily
Because availability turns over so quickly, we don’t keep a live list of every unit in stock on the website. Visit our refurbished large format printers page to submit an enquiry, or get in touch on 020 7842 1555 or sales@designsupply.co.uk and we’ll let you know what’s currently available in the size and grade you need.
