The Contex ScanStation Pro HD 42 includes a height-adjustable stand, keyboard tray and PC basket. The Contex ScanStation Pro HD 42 includes either a low-stand with paper catcher for side by side operation, or a high-stand with paper catcher for space-saving single footprint operation. Choose either height adjustable stand with right or left side mounting for the touchscreen and keyboard, maximising the ergonomic environment for the operator. The high-stand and low-stand versions of the Contex ScanStation Pro support a maximum PC size/weight of 490 x 400 x 107 mm, 12 kg (19.3 x 15.7 x 4.21 inch, 26 lbs).

The high-stand supports printer heights from 995 to 1195 mm in 25mm increments (39.2 to 47 inches in about 1 inch increments). The high-stand version fits the: HP DesignJet T-series, Z-series, PageWide XL and 500/800 series; Canon TX, TM, PRO and iPF 600/700/900 series and the Epson SC-T series. The Contex ScanStation Pro HD 42 includes a 21.5 inch high definition multi-point touchscreen. The touchscreen is full HD, TFT LCD, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The touchscreen enables Nextimage REPRO software to be used intuitively in touch-screen mode.

The Contex ScanStation Pro HD 42 features the Contex HD Ultra X 42 large format scanner with an optical resolution of 1200 dpi and maximum resolution of 9600 dpi (interpolated). The Contex HD Ultra X Series large format scanner uses 48-bit colour and 16-bit monochrome workflow and image processing. The Contex HD Ultra X 42 Series (HD Ultra X 4250 and 4290) scans up to 42 inches/1067 mm and take a maximum media width up to 43.3 inches/1100 mm.

Advanced fifth generation CCD optics with colour CCD’s (red, green, blue and gray), deliver clean and sharp image quality. Premium custom made camera lenses from Fujifilm, Contex Perfect Light latest LED technology and a static-free touchless glass system enables the Contex HD Ultra X large format scanner to capture exceptional image detail. Batch scanning productivity for Arch E-size, portrait, 200 dpi with the HD Ultra X 4250 of 519 RGB colour/monochrome documents an hour, and with the HD Ultra X 4290 of 875 documents an hour for monochrome and 519 documents for RGB colour . Contex HD Ultra X Series large format scanner featuresflexibility to fit individual scanning needs and workflow requirements. The Contex HD Ultra X Series large format scanner easily adjusts to a variety of media types and sizes. Load originals where you want to, and easily adjust the scanner to the originals with the Optimised Thickness Adjustment Control (OTAC). Adjust the thickness capacity up to 15 mm/0.06 inch, paper feed guides support documents and the easily adjustable paper pressure protects fragile, thin documents. Nextimage REPRO software is a full featured scanning software including multipage (PDF, PDF/A and TIFF), full image quality controls, accounting tools, batch copy, closed loop color calibration, ICC colour managment and supports unlimited printers. Nextimage Twain is a full 64-bit TWAIN application driver for use with EDM and other imaging software. Nextimage Remote app for Apple and Android tablets cleverly mimics the Nextimage program running on the PC and controls the scanner as if it had been instructed using the computer directly. The app vastly reduces the amount the operator needs to move between the scanner and the workstation. Contex applications create industry standard raster file formats that can be used with any CAD or GIS application, including AutoCAD, Microstation, ArcGIS, and all other CAD, GIS, image editing and storage applications.

Nextimage 5 REPRO, an award-winning scanning software features easy creation of TIFF, JPG, PDF and PDF/A files. Nextimage REPRO can be used as a standard Windows application or with the intuitive touch-screen mode and can be copied to an unlimited number of printers via the network or USB. Designed to optimise results for every use, Nextimage brings out unseen details and restores even the faintest originals. Scan in vibrant colours in sRGB, Adobe RGB and save to 48-bit with selected scanners. Capture and improve maps using advanced filters colour reduction options. Digitise and restore monochrome originals with unique adaptive filters and advanced background suppression.

Nextimage software has no file size limit, which means it is able to capture the longest originals in the industry. No original is too big for Nextimage because if limits are reached in TIF and PDF file formats, Nextimage switches to creating multiple images per page, utilising the full 64-bit OS.

Nextimage software features include SnapScan, which scans, enhances, and saves your original in one single process. Batch scanning is another feature, eliminating the need to press ‘scan’ every single time you feed the scanner a new original. Auto rotate enables you to mark areas on the scan you want to align with using the ‘align to measure line’. Soft-handling is another software feature ideal for handling fragile originals with special care, inlcuding loading, scanning and ejecting fragile originals at a slower rate. No large format scanner software has a longer list of compatible printer drivers than Nextimage REPRO.

Nextimage features Automatic Image Quality for instant clean-up and alignment and comes with an integrated image viewer and an enable automatic file naming. The software is available in multiple languages, including English, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Russian and Polish. Nextimage REPRO includes multifunction capabilities plus touch-screen compatibility and Network printer support. Nextimage Repro includes ICC colour management, full copy functions, batch copy, set copy, nesting, and closed loop colour calibration. Nextimage can be installed on as many PC’s as you like, and is compatible with Windows 10 and 11.

Scan all your document types easily with the Contex ScanStation Pro HD 42. Engineering or construction plans can be scanned in standard file formats directly into project folders. The Contex ScanStation Pro HD 42 supports standard document formats including PDF and PDF/A. These are formats that can be opened and printed in scale using Adobe Reader. PDF/A is designed for long term storage, and is a file format protected from changes and is recommended for storing as-builds and documentation. For sharing and collaboration, use the standard PDF as this enables highlighting and annotations.

Optional items for the Contex ScanStation Pro HD 42 include a PC and a large format printer. The recommended PC for the Contex ScanStation Pro is a “slimline” desktop PC, 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with 2 GB RAM or better. Contex is one of Denmark’s fastest growing IT companies and the world’s largest developer and producer of large format scanning and large format imaging solutions. The development of modular scanning technology began in 1986 and in 1988, Contex introduced its first monochrome large format scanner. The Contex HD range of CCD large format scanners (HD Ultra X, HD Ultra, HD 5450, and HD iFLEX) is recommended for high productivity and top quality. The Contex HD Ultra X range of large format scanners feature advanced Charge Couple Device technology with true 48-bit colour and 16-bit grayscale workflow, 7 x 4, 5 x 4, 4 x 4, or 1 x 4 linear colour CCD’s (Red, Green, Blue and Gray), premium custom lenses from Fujifilm, and an advanced image processing algorithm, achieving superior image quality and an optical resolution of 600 to 1200 dpi and a maximum resolution of 9600 dpi. The Contex HD range of large format scanners have the ability to process the entire range of 48-bit colour data ensuring the most accurate images with Accuracy Lens Enhancement (ALE) ensures precision of 0.1% accuracy. Contex Perfect Light is the latest in LED technology to ensure the highest possible image quality. Contex CCD Scanners (except the iFLEX flatbed) feature Optomised Thickness Adjustment Control (OTAC) and All Wheel Drive (AWD) technologies. OTAC is for scanning thick originals and monitoring pressure on the surface of the document. AWD is a precision paper feed tracking system which ensures a perfectly straight scanning path and distortion-free scans. Gigabit Ethernet, xDTR2 and xDTR improves overall productivity by increasing the data transfer speed, so more image data can be sent to the PC faster.

Contex CIS range of large format scanners (SD ONE+, SD 3600, IQ Quattro 2490, IQ Quattro X 36 and 44) feature a number of advanced Contex proprietary technologies to achieve superb image quality and reliability. The Contex Colour Imaging Sensor technology feature fourth generation CleanScan CIS technology combined with CFR, SIGMA and xDTR to ensure the highest quality CIS scanners in the market. Contex CleanScan CIS technology is based on custom CIS modules with dual-sided LED light and Dual Diffusion, which suppress shadows and unwanted backgrounds. The patented Contex Colour Fringe Removal (CFR) technology is an advanced filtering technology, producing superior image quality with excellent lines. Signal Intensity Matching (SIGMA) is a Contex patented technology that minimises sensor differences live during a scan, to adjust for differences in sensor heating. xDTR improves overall productivity by increasing the data transfer speed of the USB interface, so more image data can be sent to the PC faster. This means a larger document (and more documents) can be scanned at higher resolutions without waiting for data transfer to complete.
