KEY FEATURES

The Canon imagePROGRAF TM-500 is Canon’s new entry-level A1 (24-inch) CAD production printer, positioned for technical documents, drawings and low-coverage posters where reliable day-to-day output matters more than high ink capacity.

The TM-500 uses the 5-colour LUCIA TD pigment ink system with a newly formulated Matte Black ink, developed to give denser blacks and crisper fine lines and small text than the outgoing TM-200 generation.

Built around Canon’s proven PF-06 FINE print head (5,120 nozzles for Matte Black, 2,560 nozzles per colour, 5-picolitre droplets), the TM-500 produces sharp CAD lines and technical detail at up to 2400 x 1200 dpi.

Automatic media detection, built-in colour calibration and a compact, front-accessible design make the TM-500 straightforward to run in a small office or busy print room, without the need for daily manual adjustment.

Canon positions the TM-500 as a great entry point into in-house CAD production – ideal for architecture, engineering and construction teams who need reliable technical drawings on demand.

Connectivity/software: Direct Print Plus, PosterArtist, Free Layout Plus, Accounting Manager, Device Management Console and Media Configuration Tool all included free. Apple AirPrint and Mopria Print Service supported.

Sustainability: ENERGY STAR certified, EPEAT 1.0 Gold registered, recycled steel and resin content in the chassis, EPS-foam-free packaging.

MANUFACTURER INFORMATION

The Canon imagePROGRAF TM-500 is part of Canon’s newly refreshed TM Series of A1 and A0 large format printers, announced globally on 15 September 2026 and launching across EMEA (including the UK) from October 2026.

The new TM Series carries over Canon’s proven PF-06 FINE print head and LUCIA TD pigment ink chemistry, with a newly developed high-density matte black ink for sharper lines and text. Canon’s own positioning: ‘a great entry-level CAD production device’ for architecture, engineering, construction, retail and education users producing technical documents, drawings and posters.

As with all imagePROGRAF printers, Canon covers the TM-500 and its print head with a 12-month warranty.
