The iPF8400S 44”/B0 printer features Canon’s unique  LUCIA EX 8-colour pigment ink system and improved image processing technology delivering superb print quality, excellent reliability, exceptional versatility and added productivity.  The imagePROGRAF iPF8400S delivers a wider colour gamut, smoother gradation, deeper dark tones and sharper blacks as seen with the previous imagePROGRAF printers (iPF6300, IPF6350 and iPF8300) and features higher print speed and broad workflow compatibility as well as lowering the total cost of ownership.  A wider colour gamut enables the iPF8400S to be used in applications that require greater precision, and a colour profile designed for poster production adds to its versatility.  Improved scratch resistance and reduced bronzing combined with higher print registration accuracy for precise text and fine lines means superb quality.

Producing 2400 x 1200 dpi resolution, the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8400S prints A0 gloss in as little as 3.1 minutes. Productivity is improved through a new mirrored nozzle layout and the option to print in Fast mode, which enables the print speed to be as much as doubled, while still maintaining a level of print quality that rivals that in standard mode.  When turn around is time critical, for posters and point-of-sale (POS) items, this feature is a major advantage.  The iPF8400S also features Proof, Image and Economy modes, enabling the user to decide what level of image quality is needed when printing.  Proof mode produces sharper text and lines, making it ideal for high precision proof printing, while Image mode enables high-precision printing of text and lines without a reduction in speed, making it a good choice when placement accuracy is less important than speed.  Economy mode reduces ink consumption by almost 50%, making it convenient for producing posters for internal use or checking layouts during test printing.

The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8400S incorporates a number of new productivity tools including Hot Swap ink tanks which enable uninterrupted printing for greater productivity and reduced downtime.  Available in both 330ml and 700ml sizes, Hot Swap ink tanks feature a sub-ink tank which allows for non-stop printing, even during ink tank replacement.  New Alert features include an audio and email notification when the high capacity ink tanks need to be replaced.  Other Alert email notifications include when the media needs to be replaced and when a job has finished, making this printer ideal for the production environments. The IPF8400S features a built-in 250GB hard disk for more efficient printing of complex jobs, making it easier to handle larger amounts of data, store larger print jobs, and reprint them easily without resending from a PC.  Gigabit Ethernet connectivity allows data to be transferred fast – even when managing high print volumes or data heavy files.  Fast Economy Mode printing saves time and ink for those cost sensitive jobs.

The iPF8400S features Canon’s unique colour calibration feature uses a built-in colour density sensor and a Calibration Link feature to optimise output ensuring consistent and accurate colour reproduction.
