The Brother MFC-J6960DW professional A3 inkjet wireless all-in-one printer redefines printing technology, thanks to the Brother patented MAXIDRIVE print chip. Ink droplets are ejected into 40 micrometer thick film generating pressure that travels through 1,680 individual chambers across a single print chip, delivering ultra-fast, durable precision printing.The MFC-J6960DW includes 512 MB, 8.8cm (3.5″) colour touchscreen, Hi-Speed USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet and 2.4GHz and 5GHz support.

With advanced paper handling, the MFC-J6960DW handles a variety of media types whilst helping you to stay productive with fast prints speeds and a first page print in just 4.6 seconds colour/4.4 seconds mono. Print speeds for A4 1-sided: 31ipm mono/30ipm colour, 2-sided: 22ipm mono/21ipm colour. 1 and 2-sided printing is available for A3, and the print resolution is up to 1200 x 4800 dpi. A quiet mode is available to reduce the printing noise.

Advanced printing functions

The MFC-J6960DW features a number of advanced printing functions, including N-up printing, reducing up to 16 pages into a single page, Poster printing, enlarging a single page into a poster using 2 x 2, 3×3 pages. Watermark, ID, and Booklet printing are available, as well as Mirror, Reverse and Borderless print options. Colour enhancement is available as well as print profiles.

Printing connectivity and software

Driverless printing is available with the MFC-J6960DW, including IPP, Mopria, Apple AirPrint, Universal Print (Microsoft 365) and Brother Print Supoort App (PSA). Brother iPrint&Scan desktop enables printing from, scanning to, previewing copies and checking the machine status from Windows or macOS PCs.

Paper handling flexibility

The MFC-J6960DW paper handling options, including a standard tray (250 sheets), lower tray (250 sheets), a multipurpose tray (100 sheets), ADF , auto document feeder (50 sheets). The MFC–J6960DW supports media weights from 64 – 220gsm, including plain, inkjet, glossy and recycled. The lower tray handles plain and recycled media from 64 -120gsm, the multi-purpose tray handles plain, inkjet, glossy, and recycled media from 64 -220gsm, the ADF handles plain and recycled media from 64-120gsm and the Auto 2-sided accepts plain and recycled media from 64-120gsm. The Brother MFC-J6540DW features an enclosed paper tray that holds up to 250 A3 sheets. Using the 50 sheet automatic document feeder (ADF), you can leave your multi-page document tray to scan while you focus on other tasks.

High yield ink cartridges

Keep print costs and replacement frequency down with Brother’s optional high yield cartridges. The MFC-J6960DW is supplied with 700 page black and 450 page colour inks. Replacement inks are available in three sizes: Standard yield (BK-1,300 pages, C,M,Y -900 pages), High yield (BK- 3,000 pages, C,M,Y – 2,000 pages) and Super-high yield (BK-6,000 pages, C,M,Y – 5,000 pages).

Scanning specifications and speeds

Capture and digitize paper documents directly from the 6.8cm easy to navigate LCD colour touchscreen for electronic storage and sharing on the go. The Dual contact image sensor (CIS) can scan up to 600 x 600dpi mono, and 300 x 600dpi colour from the ADF, 1200 x 2400dpi mono and 1200 x 12oodpi colour from the scanner glass. The scan speed for A4 1-sided: 25ipm mono/colour, 2-sided 30ipm mono/colour. The scan speed for A3 1-sided: 13ipm mono/colour and 2-sided: 17imp mono/colour. The Brother Scan Utility enhances up to 19,200 x 19,200dpi.

Scanning functions

The MFC-J6960DW scanning feature supports PDF, JPEG and TIFF file formats. Standard functions include scan to USB, email , email server, image, OCR, FTP, File, and network (windows only). Multi-page scan to single PDF is available, as well as direct scan to a USB flash memory storage. Auto deskew is also available. Scanning drivers include Windows, macOS and ChromeOS.

Copy specifications

The MFC-J6960DW includes a copy speed for A4 1-sided: 25ipm mono/16ipm colour and 2-sided: 18ipm mono/13ipmm colour. First copy out time is 5 seconds/mono, 6 seconds colour. Copy functions include multi-copying/stack/sort, up to 999 copies of each page or sorts into original document order and enlargement/reduction from 25% to 400% in 1% increments. Other functions include 2-in-1 ID copying, allows the user to copy both sides of an ID card to a single A4 sheet, and N-in-! copying, allows the user to compress two or four pages onto a single A4 sheet.

Fax specifications

The MFC-J6960DW includes the ability to fax documents using a 33,600bps (Super G3) fax modem. Documents are faxed in greyscale, with up to 256 shades (8-bit) of grey. Broadcasting is supported, enabling the same fax message to be sent up to 250 locations. Memory transmission of up to 150 pages is included. Fax functions include station id, where an ID and fax number will be printed as the header of every fax sent, and PC-Fax send and receive, the ability to send and receive faxes directly from your PC.

Mobile and web connectivity

Brother Mobile Connect (Android) and Brother Mobile Connect (iPad/iPhone) enables printing from, scanning to, previewing copies and checking the machine status from an Android device or from an iPad/iPhone. The Brother Print Service Plugin enables printing from Android devices without a dedicated App. Brother apps enables scanning to searchable PDF, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Brother apps also enables easy scan to email, fax forward to cloud/email, scan to mobile, cloud secure print, infobar, and email print. Web Connect enables printing from and scanning to without using a PC on Box, Dropbox, Evernote, OneDrive, Google Drive OneNote, and SharePoint online.
