SPECIFICATIONS

The MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D Printer  uses Fused Deposition Modeling print technology to deliver paper-thin print layers of 100-micron (0.0039 inches) resolution.  The MakerBot Replicator Z18 supports a build volume of 30.0 x 30.5 x 45.7 cm (length, width, height) (11.8 x 12.0 x 18.0 inches) or 42,512 cm³ (2,592 in³), and uses an enclosed, temperature controlled  build chamber. The minimum feature size is 0.8mm (0.0315 in). The build speed is made up of the maximum material flow rate and the print head travel speed.  The MakerBot Replicator  Z18 has a maximum material flow rate of ∼15mm³/sec and up to 175mm/sec print head travel speed that the extruder moves on the xy axis.

The MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D printer is compatible with MakerBot PLA and MakerBot Tough materials, available in small(0.9kg/2lb) and large (2.26kg/5.0lb) and extra large (4.53kgk/10lb) spools, supporting a diameter of up to 1.75mm (0.069 inch).  The MakerBot Replicator Z18 Printer has a single extrusion, uses a single colour per print and is compatible with the Smart Extruder+, Tough Smart Extruder+, and Experimental Extruder, depending on the type of PLA material chosen. MakerBot PLA materials are available in natural, true colours (red, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, white, black, brown, cool gray, warm  gray), neon (green, pink, orange)  speciality (khaki, army green, ocean blue, light brown, peach, glow in the dark), and translucents (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple).  MakerBot Tough material is available in in slate gray, safety orange, onyx black and stone white, and is ideal when additional model  strength and durability is required.  MakerBot PLA (polylactic acid) material is a vegetable-based plastic material, which is a fully biodegradable thermoplastic polymer consisting of renewable raw materials. MakerBot PLA materials are composed of the purest grade resin available on the market, minimising curling and warping.   With tight tolerances to ensure steady flow through the extruder nozzle, MakerBot PLA materials perform every feature that MakerBot Print software offers and reliably slices and prints every time, reducing down time and creating the highest quality prints.  The nozzle diameter is 0.4mm(0.15 inch) and every colour is comprehensively quality tested at both 100-400 micron layer resolutions. 3rd party materials are available, including materials such as bronzeFill, copperFill and wooodFill, and work with the Experimental Extruder.  For convenience, the Replicator+ has open bottom loaded material drawer.

The MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D Printer has an injection-molded PC ABS build plate with aluminium gantry-reinforcement.  The Replicator Z18 includes an on board camera with 320 x 240 resolution for monitoring print jobs and sharing pictures of your 3D prints.

The MakerBot  Replicator Z18  3D printer works with Windows (7+), MAC OS X (10.7+), and Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora) and works with STL, OBJ, THING and MAKERBOT file types.  Connectivity is via USB, Ethernet and/or Wi-Fi. The MakerBot Replicator Z18 has a 3.5 inch full colour LCD screen, for easy, computer free access to printing menus, commands and your cloud storage library.  The LCD display allows you to set up and maintain your 3D printer, preview print files, and easily access your object library.  The LCD display shows how much filament remains, and lets you monitor your 3D Printer settings.
