The Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series large format scanners are designed to scan images fast at the optimum resolution required to capture the original image detail without compromising quality. Colortrac’s CCD (charge-coupled device) technology and ClearView 2-D white LED illumination system produce up to 600 dpi of uncompromising resolution. Colortrac’s CCD technology produces greater depth of focus compared to CIS and is ideal for non-flat, rigid or thick documents. Colortrac’s CCD produces superior colour imaging, with the widest colour gamut and provides a high dynamic range. The ability to see more detail in dark and light areas makes the Gx+ T56 Series perfect for capturing vibrant, accurate colours for graphics professionals.

ClearView’s instant-on, low energy, long life illumination provides optimal object illumination and prevents shadows and creases and combined with the Colortrac’s SureDrive roller feed system, provides even pressure across the full width of the document, pushing it against the scan glass at the critical moment of capture. The SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series supports colour management workflows and can capture a colour gamut that far exceeds the sRGB colour spaces, used as an industry recognised standard.

The Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series is ideal for boosting productivity. In addition to fast scan speeds, even at high resolution, the Gx+ T56 Series features the optimised USB 2.0 digital interface. SuperSpeed data transfer means there are fewer communication bottlenecks and you can always scan the largest documents in the greatest detail fast.

Colortrac’s ScanOnce technology means no need to preview scans to adjust settings for a rescan because all editing is applied after the scan. ScanOnce saves the full dpi and allows the user to zoom, pan and edit on screen. The SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series is designed specifically to auto-size documents face up in the centre of the scanner, which helps the operator see what they are scanning and load creased documents more effectively.

The Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series includes SmartWorks EZ Touch software. SmartWorks EZ Touch is a touch-screen optimised, copy and email software which includes image edit features and user adjustable document pre-sets. SmartWorks EZ Touch software supports TIFF, JPEG, & PDF file formats and any printer via the manufacturer’s own Windows printer driver. Colortrac’s WinSync optimises windows driver technology that allows you to easily connect Colortrac scanners to your PC.

The three configurations; monochrome, colour, and enhanced colour, are on-site software upgradable, so the Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series can be upgraded quickly and easily as your requirements change.

The Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ T56 scans up to 56 inches/142.3 cm and can take a maximum media width up to 61.8 inches/157 cm. The Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series accepts media from .08 to .8 inches(2 – 20 mm) thick. Maximum image length for scanning is not limited by the scanner. The maximum image length using SmartWorks EZ Touch is 96 inches (2438mm). The maximum resolution & size (width and length) for a SmartWorks Pro (optional software) image is limited by the file format specified, the available disk space and the computer operation system. The SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series features face-down, front entry, and rear exit.

Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series incorporates propriety technologies unique to Colortrac scanners. These technologies include CCD, ClearView, SureDrive, Firefly and WinSync. With the same CCD sensor technology used in professional quality cameras, Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series features 8 CCDs with red, green, blue and gray sensor lines and a scan accuracy of =/-0.1%/=/-1 pixel. CCD technology produces greater depth of focus compared to CIS and is ideal for non-flat, rigid or thick documents. CCD produces superior colour imaging, with the widest colour gamut and provides a high dynamic range. The ability to see more detail in dark and light areas makes the Gx+ T56 Series perfect for capturing vibrant, accurate colours for graphics professionals. The SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series has ClearView, a custom designed advanced 2D white LED lighting system. The bi-directional lighting system, called ClearView, combines 96 to 144 extra long-life switchable red/green/blue LEDs across the full width of the scanner for optimum illumination and instant-on scanning capability and optimum object illumination.

Colortrac’s SureDrive system is an innovative active pressure roller that gently presses the document against the glass. The single, full-width, motor-driven hold -up roller eliminates variations in document speed or feed inconsistencies, eliminating the possibility of misaligned data. The soft pressure roller running the full length of the scanner and allows the scanner to dynamically respond and actively work against the optical disturbances caused by document lift and paper creasing. Shadow effects in folds of creased documents are also reduced. This technology ensures that delicate or fragile media such as newspapers and old blueprints can be safely and accurately scanned without problem. WinSync means the Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series is compatible with Windows 10, 8, 7, and Vista.

The SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series scanners incorporate Colortrac’s an optimised high speed USB2.0 interface which improves data transfer rates. Higher data transfer give the SmartLF Gx+ T56 Series user the freedom to scan wider and at higher resolutions without compromising productivity, making it ideal for large amounts of archiving. MANUFACTURER INFORMATION

Colortrac is a UK-based pioneer of large format scanning and a leading innovator in affordable colour and monochrome wide format scanning technology. Colortrac was founded in 1989 to develop digital large format scanning solutions for the oil exploration industry. Ten years later, in 1999, Colortrac acquired US-based ANAtech and Tangent Imaging Systems. Colortrac has a legacy of innovation and continues to develop first class, patented wide format scanning technologies developed since the early 1980s.

Colortrac launched thick media handling in 1998, LED lighting to improve illumination and output in 2007 and USB 3.0 connections between computer and scanner to speed connections in 2012. In 2014, Colortrac was the first to introduce what it calls a full-width scanner, featuring a SingleSensor that makes the scanners easier to use, with less need for calibration. Users are able to walk up to a scanner, do a scan and walk away with no formal training. In 2016, Colortrac introduced the first truly portable, lightest, easiest to use, lowest cost large format scanner on the market.

Colortrac offers a full range of large format scanning solutions incorporating first class technological breakthroughs. Colortrac’s SingleSensor/CIS is a major step forward in large format image capture and a huge improvement on staggered CIS technology. SingleSensor features single straight-line scanning accuracy from CCD scanners with low cost of CIS technology and is at the heart of Colortrac’s CIS scanners. SingleSensor requires virtually no routine maintenance by users and provides high definition, exceptional colour and dimensional accuracy, combined with ultra-fast scan speeds.

Colortrac has also concentrated on LED illumination for scanning, providing long life, low energy consumption with even, balanced lighting for high fidelity image reproduction. Colortrac scanners feature soft, motor-driven rollers superb for thin paper handling or thick mounted board handling.

Additionally, Colortrac have combined a number of key technologies, called ScanOnce, FireFly, SureDrive, ClearView and WinSync to create an award winning line of large format scanners. ScanOnce is efficient scanning and copying workflow, FireFly is SuperSpeed USB3 compatibility, SureDrive is a single driven media pressure roller, ClearView is the innovative dual LED lighting and WinSync is an optimised Windows driver technology.
