Description

Canon imagePROGRAF PRO Series PRO-2000

The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO Series PRO-2000 is an A1/24″/610mm, 12-colour, professional grade large format photo printer.

160/330/700mm hot swap ink tanks, and a 360MB hard disk ideal for the Proofing, Photographic and Fine Art applications.

Who uses the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO Series PRO-2000?

The PRO-2000 provides the perfect balance between productivity and superb print quality for Photo, Fine Art, Proofing and Design, Advertising and Retail applications. They demand accurate, high quality prints as well as increased productivity, versatility and scalability.

Featuring Canon’s new advanced LUCIA PRO ink system, 1.28″ print head and L-COA PRO processing engine, the imagePROGRAF PRO-2000 produces outstanding quality prints with wireless connectivity, offering the freedom to print from a variety of devices and popular applications.

This is the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-2000 but why is everyone looking at the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO range of large format printers?

Look at a large poster print in a room with black walls – it looks great.

Then look at a large poster print in a room with white walls.  The print on the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO range of large format printers looks fantastic.

Where do you display your posters and prints in a dark room with black walls? No! You hang them on light coloured walls or white walls or outside in the daylight. That is why prints from the new Canon Pro series look better than from other large format printers. Clever stuff!

The Canon PRO 2000 is one of the fastest media loading wide format inkjet printers on the market, easily coping with common day to day problems such as loading paper which is made easy with skew detection which is automatically set to standard, but for wayward rolls, it can be set to loose or even off.  If the media is still skewed on the core, this could result in a small margin at the edge of the print when printing borderless (edge to edge / full bleed).

Canon have enabled our clients the ability to reduce or remove this border by extending the printed area beyond the paper’s normal width to accommodate any skew.

To activate, simply use either the printer’s touch screen menu via  Extension for Borderless Printing > Paper with Adequate Width or via the drivers under Page Set Up > Borderless Setting you can then slide the marker accordingly to increase or decrease the border size if required.

Design Supply, an Accredited Canon Gold Partner, works closely with Canon to provide the best solutions available to get the job done for your business and maximise your opportunities. With 30 years of experience in the large format printer market, Design Supply offers expertise and knowledge in tailoring the exact solution for your specific application.

MANUFACTURER INFORMATION

Canon imagePROGRAF PRO Series printers (PRO-1000, PRO-2000, PRO-4000, PRO-4000S, and PRO-6000S) use a number of advanced Canon proprietary technologies. FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) print-head technology and dual print head design features a total of 18,432 nozzles into a 1.28″ high density print head. Bi-directional printing design of the imagePROGAF printers means print times are significantly faster than conventional print systems which require multiple passes for each line to compensate for uneven droplet size and placement on the paper. An innovative ink-nozzle manufacturing method results in precisely uniform 4 picolitre droplets resulting in 2400 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) resolution.

Canon’s innovative LUCIA PRO 12 pigment ink system incorporates 11 colours plus Chroma Optimizer and superfine 4-pl (picoliter) ink droplets, ensuring a wide colour gamut, smooth gradation, reduced graininess and reduced bronzing. Canon’s LUCIA PRO ink system delivers exceptionally accurate colours by including both RGB and CMYK. The LUCIA PRO inks are delivered via the FINE print head with a tubular ink delivery system that results in faster printer speeds and enables stable, high quality printing. LUCIA Pro includes a newly formulated Photo Black ink and both Photo and Matte Black have their own channels, so no ink swap is needed when changing papers, increasing efficiency and improving resistance to clogging nozzles for consistent results. The 12 channel ink system enables economical printing because there is less need to blend colours (such as magenta and yellow to create red) and so less ink is required. Two grey inks are included, further reducing the need to blend colours and keeping costs down. Four monochromatic inks; black, matt black, grey, and photo grey inks, produce brilliant black and white photography reproduction delivering incredible lifelike photographs with exceptional detail, opening the door to numerous applications including wedding photography, christenings and the fast growing lifestyle portrait work. The Chroma Optimizer regulates the ink-droplet height for an even brilliance across the print surface for reduced bronzing. LUCIA PRO ink systems have an innovative polymer structure that result in exceptional scratch resistance and protection from colour fading, while reducing bronzing to ensure durable, stable output for over 100 years.

The LUCIA PRO 8 colour models (PRO-4000S and PRO-6000S) produce vivid colour expression with low ink consumption on glossy paper by microencapsulated colour materials. 8 colour models arrange the key colours of cyan, magenta, yellow and matte black in a mirrored layout on the print head. Posters with high colour density can be created with fewer print passes at faster print speeds.

Canon’s new processing engine and printer architecture deliver further accuracy to ink ejection and limitation of colour unevenness. The new L-COA (Large Format printer Common Architecture) PRO image processing technology instantly determines optimal droplet combinations to deliver best results that are faithful to the original image. L-COA PRO delivers faster, high-quality output and print optimization by carefully calculating best results for each print mode and media using various factors including colour reproduction, tonal gradations, black density, graininess, glossiness, anti-bronzing and elimination of metamerism, all of which contribute to creating an amazing printed image. L-COA PRO is combined with 1GB of memory, which enables high -speed processing of massive volumes of image data for demanding workflows. Additionally, the new two-way vacuum paper feeder keeps media flat and even, assisting with accuracy of ink ejection.

Canon’s Advanced Colour Calibration is a powerful built-in colour calibration system ensuring the most stable colour reproduction attainable, preventing variability of colour output by aging changes or printer differences. In conventional systems, changing print heads may cause a minute variation in print output, due to the density characteristics of the print head. With Canon’s Advanced Colour Calibration, a multi-sensor measures variations in density on a printed calibration chart and then automatically applies any appropriate adjustments to ensure an exact match for long-term consistency.
