Market and Applications and who uses this type of large format printer
The Mutoh ValueJet VJ-1624W 64” 1625mm is ideal for everyday dye sublimation printing for established Print Shops and Sign Makers and those businesses wanting to extend their portfolio. In dye sublimation printing, images are printed in reverse onto transfer paper. After printing, a heat press or calendar fixes the images onto polyester-based textiles. The heat process bonds the images permanently to the fabric. Colours are bright and vibrant. Outputs are durable and washable. Unlike other ink jet technologies, the sublimation process does not affect the handling and feel of the material.
The Mutoh ValueJet VJ-1624W is targeted at mid-volume production of soft signage, apparel and textile printing with Mutoh Disperse Dye Inks. Prints can be transferred onto flexible and rigid polyester materials, producing soft signage, clothing and gadgets: high quality in-store textile decoration & displays, textile banners, pop-ups, personalised home decoration, sportswear & shirts, flags and pennants, mugs, phone covers, mouse mats, umbrellas and much more.

ValueJet VJ-1624W works with Mutoh’s new Water Based Disperse Dye Sublimation Inks
Developed specifically for the ValueJet VJ-1624W print head, Mutoh’s Disperse Dye Sublimation inks produce excellent nozzle stability for high speed and high volume printing. Mutoh’s new water-based dye sublimation inks are odourless, during both the printing and the transfer process and produce rich, vibrant colours and offer excellent colourfastness. These inks deliver top scores in washing, perspiration, and light fastness properties, including UV durability. Disperse Dye Sublimation Inks are 100% VOC free and are available in 1 litre and 5 litre bottles. After printing with this ink type onto transfer paper or polyester fabrics, a sublimation follow-up treatment (transfer) is required, through high pressure and temperature (calender), to fix the colours. Fabrics need to be washed before use after printing directly onto polyester fabrics with this ink type and after sublimation, to remove the brownish dispersant and to fully release the vibrant colours typical for sublimation inks. Average ink consumption is 15ml/m².
